To address the navigation challenges at the University of Michigan, we developed MaizeMaps, an app designed to provide comprehensive and reliable navigation aids for the campus. MaizeMaps features interactive maps with detailed information about building layouts, room numbers, and amenities, allowing users to navigate the campus with ease using turn-by-turn directions and real-time updates on construction or closures. The app also includes advanced search filters to help users quickly find specific locations, buildings, and amenities. For campus transportation, Maize Maps incorporates live bus tracking with GPS technology, enabling users to see the exact location of buses on interactive maps, ensuring accurate, real-time updates and minimizing wait times. Additionally, the app leverages crowdsourced data, allowing users to report bus delays, overcrowding, or other issues in real-time, keeping the information accurate and up-to-date throughout the day.

REFLECTION
Overall, MaizeMaps aims to serve the campus community by alleviating navigation concerns that often discourage new and incoming students. Our Figma design and initial data collection highlight our vision and the essential elements for the app's success. With further research and prototyping, we plan to develop a fully functional platform that provides accurate, real-time updates for campus navigation and bus schedules. The initial steps we've taken outline how MaizeMaps will help the Michigan community confidently navigate the campus and rely on local bus systems.
